The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. > DOWNLOAD (Mirror #1)

Show Spoiler

S.H.I.E.L.D has now began a fresh start after the event of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Phil Coulson now the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D and staying in the shadows with new recruits, it's up to him and his team to stop HYDRA from taking scientific weapons to create terrorist attacks.
After the events of Avengers one, the Stratiegic Homeland Intervention Enforcement: Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.) needs a team of agents to find out and fix alien events. This team includes May, Daisy, Simmons, Fitz, and the man who lives, Agent Phil Coulson. This show follows the events of this team of many different skill and has many tie ins to the MCU movies.
Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen are both versatile, expressive dramatic actors, and any spy series they anchor ought to be good at the baseline.

Make no mistake, Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is formula spy- television in the vein of every predecessor from I, SPY to Inspector Gadget.

When the show released, some viewers assumed it was going to be The Avengers, but on television. But the show's focus is "agents" (human, mortal, easily knocked over, but with badges and security clearances) of the fictional pan-government agency, and not Marvel's raison de etra, frickin' awesome superheroes. Like I said, it's a spy show.

Joining Gregg and Wen as "the agents" "of S.H.I.E.L.D." are Chloe Bennett as "Skye" and Elizabeth Henstridge as "Jemma." We also get to meet Iain De Coesticker playing gadgety-techy "Leo" and Brett Dalton as the 'shoot first, punch hard' muscle "Grant."

These newcomers gamely portray rookie government agents. Regrettably, Mr. Dalton gets the best lines and sub-plots while Ms. Bennett and Ms. Henstridge often seem relegated to decoration and minor exposition. Which is so Marvel in the 1960s.

A welcome addition to the spy series genre, if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had launched decades ago against any of the hoary old espio- favorites like Peter Graves' Mission: Impossible or Robert Vaughan's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. it would be punching above its weight. Gregg, Wenn, and the production values are too professional and engaging to ignore.
Normally I do not pay attention to Television, since my favorite shows Missing and Last Resort got cancelled, but this is one that has got my attention to make me enjoy TV again!

It is a show that follows Agent Phil Coulson (My favorite actor in the MCU.) and his team as the go around the globe doing missions for S.H.I.E.L.D, and how they must battle the elements.

The show did hit a few clinkers during it's first 22 episode run, with it being sometimes predictable and not very strong stories, but after T.R.A.C.K.S. (Ep 13.) the show found it's way to being a super great show.

The crossovers between the films and the shows have been hit or miss. With episodes like 'The Well' (Crossover with Thor: The Dark World.) being terrible and a lousy story. But 'Turn Turn Turn' (Crossover with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.) did hit the mark and definitely had an impact from the movie.

I do wish they more guest stars from the MCU movies (Other than Fury, Hill, Sitwell, and Lady Sif.) like JARVIS or Dr. Banner or Hawkeye, but maybe for Season 2.

Joss Whedon is one of the best at the business, but I do wish he had more of an impact in the show, just so we can know he cares about it and is giving it the time from him it deserves.

The rating I would give this show is most definitely 9/10 for many reasons. It's fun, exciting, great cast, love the Marvel touch, only show that has my attention, and finally having a meaning in the MCU.

Season 1 starts several months after The Avengers (2012), as Coulson's "death" in that film, and the destruction in New York, are both referenced. The first seven episodes are also set after the events of Iron Man 3 (2013), since the pilot makes reference to Extremis, the drug introduced in that film. Episodes 8 through 16 take place after the events of Thor: The Dark World (2013) (but before Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)) since these impact two of SHIELD's cases. The events of The Winter Soldier involve a major twist that leads into episodes 17 through 22.

Season 2 starts some time after Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). The first 19 episodes take place some time before Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), the last three afterwards.

Season 3 starts some time after Ant-Man (2015) (first 19 episodes). The remaining three episodes take place after Captain America: Civil War (2016).

Season 4 starts before Doctor Strange (2016) (first 6 episodes). The remaining 16 episodes take place before Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).

Agents of SHIELD is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios, a film studio spun off from Marvel Comics and owned by Walt Disney Company.

In the 1990s, Marvel Comics was in need of money and they sold off the film rights to several of what were then their most popular properties. Spiderman was sold to Sony while The Fantastic Four and the X-men were sold to 20th Century Fox. While Sony eventually sold the rights to Spiderman back to Marvel, thus allowing the character to appear in "Captain America: Civil War", the rights for the X-men, and related characters and concepts, including the idea of mutants, are still owned by Fox who still produces movies based on them (most recently, 2016's "Xmen: Apocalypse" and 2017's "Logan").

Instead of mutants, Agents of SHIELD uses the idea of Inhumans, a variation of the mutant concept that was also created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby originally in The Fantastic Four series, who carry alien DNA which allows them to develop powers when exposed to the Terrigen Mist.
